Prosper got its start in 1902, when a new railroad line pulled two farm communities together, and the name came from a year of especially good crops. Today the town has 61 miles of hike and bike trails and parks like Frontier Park. It's about 19.1 miles east of Denton and split between Collin and Denton counties, with most residents on the Collin County side, so it's outside our usual area. Can the city take it?
Republic Services collects bulk and yard waste weekly on your trash day, including furniture, appliances, bundled carpet and fence panels.
The limits:
- Up to 4 cubic yards per collection
- No bricks, concrete, tires, car parts or household hazardous waste
- Refrigerators and freezers need refrigerant-removal certification
- Items have to be at the curb before 7 a.m.
